Tingley Football club

The popularity and success of Tingley A.F.C meant there was a need to look for a new grounds and improved facilities. architecture 2B were asked to design the new clubhouse, and coordinate the landscape and infrastructure. The challenge of this project was to balance the desire to create an open and inviting community facility with the need to protect it from the risk of vandalism. The solution was to introduce a protective layer of wire mesh fencing around the simple form of the clubhouse. Fast-growing Ivy will cover the screen, effectively camouflaging the club house in its setting. When in use, large panels of the fencing fold outwards to reveal the clubhouse and allow easy access to players, officials and spectators
