Saxton Lane

Employed as concept architects, and responsible for developing the design up to the submission of the Planning Application, architecture 2B have created a new landmark building for the southern gateway into Leeds. The project received Planning Approval in December 2004, and provides a mix of 1 and 2-bed apartments centred around a private and protected raised garden area. The design explored the contrast created by different planes; horizontal and vertical planes that reflect the relative speed of traffic passing by. Vertical timber screening to the drum is dynamic; pulling back in places to reveal windows and secret balconies
