Midland Mills played a key part in the industrial revolution, providing machinery to the textile industry. It remains one of only two examples in the country with this original use and history. The Listed buildings have been added to / adapted / remodelled many times over the last 200 years, and we were keen to add to this eclectic mix with elements that are unashamedly modern in form and material. A glazed roof over the central street provides a central focus for the complex, functionally and visually linking all the elements together.
