- 2B Architecture has designed Calls Wharf II for Commercial Development Projects Ltd. Planning consultant ID Planning submitted the scheme for planning approval on 30th April 2013. This prestigious waterfront location offers city centre living of the highest standard, with 77 spacious apartments. The apartments benefit from large balconies to enjoy the expansive views of the river, with the penthouses having rooftop gardens & terraces.
- Calls Wharf II also offers public amenities including a large, south facing public square surrounded by cafes, bars & restaurants.
- Designed by Leeds architect, Nick Brown, the development will transform the derelict site at 14-28 The Calls into a place for stylish modern living. ”This scheme is all about creating a destination space on the river for Leeds. A large opening has been created on The Calls to provide much needed connectivity to the waterfront. The opening will lead people down a grand cascade of stone steps to a wonderful public space adjacent to the River Aire. The project includes two new buildings and the refurbishment of 20-24 The Calls. The new buildings have been designed to reflect the character of The Calls as well as the mill buildings that have defined Leeds waterfront architecture for the last 200 years. The submitted scheme also reflects our positive dialogue with Leeds City Council’s Planning, Design & Conservation officers.”
- The scheme aims to be completed by summer 2015.
