Contemporary Artist's Studio gains planning permission

Working in close collobration with our client, and Paul Simkins, architecture 2B have gained planning permission for a contemporary artist's studio in North Leeds. Work now moves to the next phase.

Staff Christmas trip to Valencia

The architecture 2B team descended upon the historic Spanish city of Valencia for a weekend of cultural appreciation, which included not only sampling the delights of the local architectural sites, but the traditional beverages and cuisine!

Castleford in for planning

This exciting waterfront mixed use scheme in a prominent site in Castleford was submitted to Wakefield Planning Department last week.
The submission follows an extensive and productive dialogue, BEAM and local Castleford residents, and serves to add to the strong optimism towards the future of Castleford as designers and locals work together to rejuvenate forgotten areas of land and breathe new life into the heart of the town.

York Street wins RIBA White Rose Award

York Street, the conversion and renovation of an existing building into the new offices of Arc furniture designers, won a prestigious RIBA White Rose Award after being short-listed in September. The project was recognised for its superior quality and finish, along with its sympathetic approach towards architectural regeneration.

Not deterred by the threats of floods off the east coast, ten intrepid members of architecture 2B took to the high seas and tried their best to diminish the fish stocks off the coast at Bridlington. From the look of the catch, the fish won!

Competition success

architecture 2B have been short-listed in the RIBA competition to design a visitor centre for the Brockholes Wetland and Nature Reserve. Final stage interviews are to take place on November 01. The 5 short-listed schemes are available to view at the Lancashire Wildlife Trust's headquarters, in Berkeley Drive, Bamber Bridge weekdays between 9 and 4 until the end of October

architecture 2B attended the 2007 AJ King's Cross Charrette in London, sponsored by Argent and AJ Magazine. The workshop showcased 20 of the best young architecture practices in the country and was a valuable learning experience for the company.

4x4 lecture

architecture 2B's Nick Brown was one of the speakers at the first of this year's 4x4 lecture series. The theme for the evening was 'Connections: Culturing Change', and it gave Nick an opportunity to highlight key influencing factors effecting architecture today, and how these in turn influence the design approach within architecture 2B. Projects showcased included CITU Developments 'Chapel Lofts' and 'Tao', G&W Developments 'Aspley Heights' in Huddersfield, and arc design new hq on York Street in Leeds.
